By Toutatis ! Welcome to the Oppidum of Murcens…. An ancient site covering more than 80 hectares, it was once occupied by a Gaulish settlement, built high up, protected by the cliffs and overlooking the Vers valley. Down below lay the beginning of the Gallo-Roman Aqueduct which supplied water to the city of the Cadurci. In later centuries, this became the city of Cahors. The oppidum is nowadays a place with a difference, good for walks or a picnic in the countryside.
